Advocate Brokers is an independent real estate brokerage serving individual and business clients in residential, commercial and investment real estate throughout the Greater Los Angeles area.

Advocate Brokers was founded by Peter J. Lesser, who has been a licensed California real estate broker for over 15 years, and an attorney and mediator focused on business and real estate matters for over 30 years.

Peter brings to Advocate Brokers the same principles that have driven his success as an attorney/mediator and small business owner: a low-volume practice that enables Peter to provide highly individualized attention to his clients and their transactions on a 24/7 basis; an understanding of the latest technologies and platforms underlying today’s real estate business; a strong commitment to continuing legal and real estate education to stay current with local, national and international developments; and, an intensive attention to detail to the many long-form contracts, disclosures, title reports, financing agreements and other documents governing today’s real estate transactions.

Moreover, Peter really enjoys the real estate business, and it shows.

As an attorney, Peter has litigated dozens of real estate and construction-related lawsuits, and has served as the mediator in hundreds of pre-litigation and litigated disputes involving residential, commercial and investment properties, and homeowners’ association matters.  Peter also has substantial experience administering and selling real estate in probate and trust contexts; he has advised international clients with their purchases of properties in California; and, he has drafted and provided the documentation for purchase/sale transactions negotiated by others.  This breadth of experience has given Peter has a really good idea of what can go wrong with a transaction.

Advocate Brokers was founded not only to assist its clients buy, sell or lease the best properties – but also to get the transaction right from the inception in order to avoid misunderstandings and roadblocks in the pre-closing period, and disputes and lawsuits in the months and years after closing.  Peter’s a great problem solver who’s committed to trying to prevent problems in the first place.

Peter J. Lesser is a graduate of the University of Virginia School of Law (J.D.); the Straus Institute for Dispute Resolution at Pepperdine University School of Law (LL.M. in Dispute Resolution); the London School of Economics & Political Science (M.Sc. in International Relations); and, Oberlin College (B.A. in Government & Economics).  Since receiving his California broker’s license in 2004, Peter has earned his GRI (Graduate, Realtors Institute), e-Pro (technology) and other designations, and has attended dozens of professional education courses in residential, commercial and investment real estate, and related technology issues.
